Volleyball Finalizes Anticipated 28-Match Schedule

Majors Co-Host Annual Invitational, Sept. 11-12

JACKSON, Miss — The Millsaps volleyball team is pumped and excited for the 2026 season. The team's schedule will feature 10 home matches, six away matchups, along with 12 neutral-site contests.

An updated and finalized version was announced by the Millsaps College Department of Athletics on Wednesday after one of the Majors' opponents cancelled its 2026 campaign.

After a pair of scrimmages, the Majors will open its 2026 regular season on Sept. 1 against Belhaven University inside the Rugg Arena. The Majors are currently looking to improve upon their 10-match win streak against the Blazers.

Millsaps will then travel to Belton, Texas, for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Tournament, where they will compete against four other NCAA Division III institutions.

The Majors will battle Carroll University (College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) and Alverno College (Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) on Sept. 4.

Millsaps will close out its neutral-site stay in Texas the following day against Texas Lutheran University and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

After opening the regular season with four competitive matches, the Majors will look for fans to fill the seats inside the Hangar Dome as they co-host the Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational, Sept. 11-12.

The Majors will open the invitational against Centenary College on Sept. 11, followed by a match against Principia College.

The volleyball team will then face LeTourneau University and Huntingdon College on Sept. 12, looking to close out the invitational strong.

Last season, the Majors hosted its annual invitational, where they secured four match victories against each opponent they faced.

First time competing against each other, Millsaps will then focus their attention on the United States Sports University at home on Sept. 18.

Millsaps will have eight days of rest before opening conference play at the Sewanee Quad Match, where the Majors will take on host Sewanee on Sept. 26 and then play Maryville College on Sept. 27 in Tennessee. It will be the Southern Athletic Association volleyball action between the Majors and the Scots.

The Majors will open the Harvest Month of October with a pair of home matches against Texas foes, Trinity University on Oct. 2 and Southwestern University on Oct. 3.

Returning to the volleyball court, Millsaps next travels to Atlanta, Ga., for the Oglethorpe Pod, where the Majors will face Centre College and Berry College on Oct. 10, and Oglethorpe University on Oct. 11 inside Dorough Field House.

The Majors will return home to prepare for Tougaloo College on Oct. 13 before cruising up to Memphis, Tenn., to compete against Rhodes College and Maryville College on Oct. 17. Sewanee will also face the Majors on Oct. 18 in the Rhodes SAA Pod inside the Mallory Gymnasium for a rematch.

Millsaps will hope to continue its dominance in the 2026 regular season by traveling to San Antonio, Texas, to face Trinity University on Oct. 23 and Southwestern University on Oct. 24.

The team will look to close out their road schedule in Memphis, Tenn., against Berry College and Centre College on Oct. 31, followed by Oglethorpe University on Nov. 1.

Millsaps will expect the Hangar Dome to be crowded with fans cheering full of excitement as the Majors conclude the 2026 regular season against both Rhodes College and Belhaven University on Nov. 7.

After a strong regular-season slate, the Majors will hope to earn a postseason berth at the 2026 SAA Volleyball Championship, hosted by Trinity University, and look to be crowned champions, Nov. 12 to 14. The top six teams in the regular-season standings will earn the right to travel to San Antonio and the Lone Star State.
