SHREVEPORT, La. —The Millsaps football team controlled the Centenary College Gents with a dynamic 57-0 performance at Atkins Field, Saturday night.
The Majors tallied a 443-125-yard advantage offensively. Sophomore quarterback
Grant Bizjack completed 14-of-19 passes for 130 yards, and tallied a touchdown. He added 57 yards rushing.
Senior
Quez Goss also performed well, tossing 4-of-5 passes for an impressive 96 yards and added a touchdown. He also recorded a rushing score and 10 yards on the ground.
The running backs netted a strong 217 yards of rushing and scored four times. Senior
Tameron Patterson led with 59 yards and a touchdown. Redshirt senior
Mitch Taylor and freshman
DeAndree Franklin also found the end zone with the ground attack, with 31 rushing yards each.

Defensively the Majors were difference makers, forcing four turnovers, 14 tackles for loss, four sacks, and scored two touchdowns. Graduate
Zabian Boutan scored off a strip-sack fumble and returned it for a score, while junior
Justin Smith found the end zone of an interception.
On special teams, junior wide receiver and kick returner
Davis Dare totaled five punt returns for 77 yards, one kickoff for 26 yards, and hauled in four receptions for 29 yards.
Classmate
Connor Babin secured all seven PATs he attempted, while adding nine kickoffs for 555 yards (61.7-yard average).
The Majors wasted no time, scoring their first touchdown against the Gents as Patterson rushed into the end zone on a one-yard carry. Babin converted the extra point to give Millsaps a 7-0 lead.
The Millsaps defense stuffed the Gents late in the second quarter. Centenary was pushed back nine yards with Boutan forcing a sack. He forced a fumble and a fumble recovery to find the end zone and tally a score for the Majors.
Babin finished the rest kicking the football through the middle of the field goal post to push past Centenary, 14-0 before launching a 65-yard kickoff on special teams resulting in a touchback.
Reading the offense with 00:10 remaining in the second quarter, Smith hauled in an interception to power his way to the end line. Babin then made his third PAT in the game to help the Majors pass the Gents, 21-0.
The Majors continued their scoring surge in the third quarter as Bizjack recorded his passing touchdown of the night, connecting with Johnson on a 59-yard touchdown pass with 8:32 remaining in the quarter.
Millsaps stayed ahead of Centenary in the final quarter as Taylor toted the ball into the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown. The quarter saw the Majors outscore the Gents by a 29-0 margin, scoring on their final four possessions to put the game out of reach.
After Taylor's touchdown, sophomore
Keiron Ross added a successful two-point conversion.
The final three scores saw Goss rush for eight yards, featured a Goss 24-yard pass to Taylor, and a Franklin 12-yard rush up the middle.
The Majors finalized the game by taking down the Gents, 57-0 on Saturday night.
