CANTON, Ga. – A record-breaking weekend helped Millsaps volleyball senior libero
Sandy Bourgeois be named the Southern Athletic Association Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Appearing in three matches during the Majors' 4-0 weekend in the Millsaps-Belhaven Invitational, Bourgeois tallied 85 digs, 15 assists, and four aces. She tallied an SAA record 50 digs, helping Millsaps better LeTourneau in a five-set, come-from-behind victory on Friday. She also helped the Majors sweep Centenary on Friday as well as Huntingdon on Saturday.
Monday's announcement followed an SID league-wide vote, and is the second SAA Defensive Athlete of the Week recognition of Bourgeois' career.
Millsaps volleyball next hosts the United States Sports University on Friday at 6 p.m. inside the Hangar Dome in Jackson, Miss. Live stats will be available and the game will streamed via FloCollege.
