JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps College men's soccer team is ready to take charge of the 2026 season with a 44-man roster featuring 22 returners, 22 newcomers, four transfers, and one graduate student.

The Majors will be led by fourth-year head coach Gentry Jonhson, along with assistant coaches Stephen Roberson, Derek Anderson, and Michael Azzarone.

Last season, the Majors recorded 33 goals, 26 assists, and 55 saves as a team. They also ranked 24th in NCAA Division III with 95 shots on goal.

Sophomore Myles Walden will be returning back for the 2026 season after being named on the 2025 All-SAA Sportsmanship Team.

The Fort Mitchell, Ala., native brought the energy into his freshman campaign by leading the Majors with eight goals while making 17 appearances and two starts, where he accumulated 755 minutes of playing time.

Playing the forward position, Walden led the team and ranked sixth in the conference with eight goals.

He also recorded 10 shots on goal, 20 total shots, one assist, and one game-winning goal. 

Junior Ellis Dykes, another competitor on the Majors squad, led the team first with six assists and 21 shots on goal.

During the 2025 season, it was hard to keep Dykes off the scoresheet, as he ranked second on the Majors with four goals and placed for 45th in NCAA Division III in shots on goal.

On Sept. 6, Dykes recorded two assists in a 2-2 draw against LeTourneau University. 

He scored goals in back-to-back matches against MUW on Aug. 29 and Sept. 4, helping the Majors open the season with a 2-0 record.

Sophomore Raul Blandon appeared in all 17 games while making 16 starts during his freshman year and looks to continue bringing the DAWG mentality to the team.

Blandon tied third on the team with three goals scored and two assists, second among his peers with 23 shots and 12 shots on goal.

On the soccer field Blandon is going to make every minute count. Last year in a season opener, Blandon did not waste any time scoring his first collegiate goal in a matchup against MUW, where the Majors downed the Owls 6-1 on Aug. 29 at Harper Davis Field.

Continuing the Majors top contenders, junior Drew McKeithen, a player who is ambitious to win, started in all 17 games for the Majors while making the 2025 Fall SAA Academic Honor Roll and the 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team. The Germantown, Tenn., native not only plays with a passion in the classroom but also on the field. can expect great things from him this season.

McKeithen registered nine shot attempts, with five being placed on goal last season, while blanking his opponents with two goals. Millsaps fans, grab some food and drinks this season and watch sophomore Abram Lawless in action as he looks to carry the Majors into a winning season. 

Lawless tied his name third on the roster with three goals scored and second with three assists while finishing fifth with six shots on goal.

Other veterans returning to make an impact for the Majors include sophomore Daniel Lee, who recorded two goals while making 16 appearances with 15 starts, and classmate Dylan Speaks, who appeared in 16 matches, made one start, and scored two goals. What sets the tone between Lee and Speaks is the mindset of wanting to win and by showing the difference-maker as young leaders on the team.

The defenders' position will be loaded with talent, including Lee, senior Ian Woodrey, juniors Drake Dilodovico and Kaleb Wilkins, and sophomore Hughes Schneidau.

The forwards include Dykes and Walden, along with senior Ethan Pratt and juniors Dawson Alexandre and Nicholas Theriot. The Majors will have four goalkeepers competing for the starting spot: senior Gavin Pocasangre, junior Alden Davenport, and sophomores Edward Steinwand and Beau Bartholomew. 

Last season Steinwand appeared in five matchups while making two starts, recording three saves in 194:09 minutes logged. 
 
In a home matchup against United States Sports University on Oct. 14, Steinwand played all 90 minutes, helping the Majors defeat the Eagles, 4–2. He faced 12 shots and recorded one save in the victory.  Davenport has shown nothing short of excellence at the goalkeeping position.

Learning under a great coach such as Anderson, who specializes in coaching goalkeepers, Davenport has shown he can compete at the collegiate level through Anderson's guidance.  The Houston, Texas, native recorded a season-opening victory against MUW, securing a 6-1 triumph on Aug. 29, and later earned another win against Tougaloo College on Sept. 24.

The midfield position, this group of players will not accept defeat as an answer as they look to conquer the 2026 season. 
 
Seniors Braden Walters and Ryan Hoover, alongside juniors Alden Romano and Harrison Williams, and sophomores Christian Lopez and Brady Bell, alongside Mckeithen, Blandon, and Lawless.

Looking to build a stellar season, the Majors have added 17 newcomers to the roster, each bringing a strong background of success from high school competition. Many have competed in playoff runs or helped lead their teams to championship titles, adding valuable experience and a winning mindset. 
 
The newcomers include Valentin Avila, Raif Bialy, Reid Brenner, Zachary Diamond, Carson Dwyer, Jonathan Emmerich, George Lee, Justin Long, Mason McDaniel, Justin Park, Remy Sauerwin, Dakota Vann, Ignacio Vargas, Colin Vukusich, Adler Watson, Jaxon Wayland, and Tucker Williams.

The Majors also added graduate transfer Jannik Stockfisch (Barton College), along with three transfers from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA): Jason Marshall (Pearl River Community College), Andrew Pearce (Jones College), and Seamus Murphy (Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College). This group knows the game of soccer and is ready to compete for a conference title on the NCAA Division III level.  

The Millsaps men's soccer team will compete in 18-regular-season matches, including six home games at Harper Davis Field, beginning on Sept. 4.
