LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Millsaps men's golf team traveled to the Transylvania WildBat Invitational over the weekend, hosted by Transylvania University, where the Majors placed seventh at the University Club of Kentucky on Saturday and Sunday following three rounds of competition.
Senior Jason Howe finished atop the Majors' leaderboard, tying for 16th among 71 golfers with a 76-72-78—226 (+10) finish. Junior Miles Harrison tied for 22nd alongside two competitors from the Transylvania's B team following a 76-78-70—224 (+11) on the golf course.
Classmate Charlie Berglund lasted three rounds at the University Club of Kentucky, where he tied for 37th, led by a 78-77-74—229 (+16) completion in Kentucky.
Third-year student Noble Burns competed as an individual and tied for 40th, recording a 74-78-78—230 (+17) on the green. Freshman Matthew Yeung concluded his stay in Kentucky tied for 40th place alongside Burns, recording a 76-78-76—230 (+17).
Sophomore Jack Ritter finished the Majors' scoring out strong to head back home tied for 50th with a 79-80-74—233 (+20) to close out the Transylvania WildBat Invitational.
The Millsaps men's golf team will return to action at the John Nellermoe Classic, Sept. 14-15, hosted by Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas at the Starcke Park Golf Course.
