Biography

2009:MemberSCAC Fall Academic Honor Roll… played in all ten games andstarted four as a junior… had 15 tackles on the season,including five solo and 10 assisted… season high fivetackles against Huntingdon College.

2008:AcademicAll-SCAC selection... played in five games as a sophomore... hadthree tackles on the year, including one solo vs ColoradoCollege. 

2007: Academic All-SCAC selection... played infour games at receiver for the SCAC Co-Champion Majors... caughthis first career TD from two yards out in a 44-10 win overLouisiana College on the road. 

High School: A three-sport athlete at District7-1A St. Aloysius High School... lettered in football three seasonsunder head coach Jim Taylor... played TE, DE, OLB and FB... wasalso a regular face on special teams... recorded 267 career tacklesand hauled in 18 career TD passes... led the team in tackles hissophomore and senior seasons... all-Warren County from 2004-06...earned the Vergadamo Award and was the team’s defensive MVPas a sophomore and senior... team captain... also lettered threeyears in basketball and baseball... all-Warren County and teamcaptain as a junior/senior on the basketball team. 

Personal: Son of John Robert II and Clare FrancisNelson Burnett... has a younger brother, Luke (17) and sister,Grace (11)... born in Jackson and raised in Oxford/Port Gibson,Miss... both grandparents on his father’s side, Bob andClaudia Burnett, attended Millsaps... his uncle Bobby also attendedMillsaps... majoring in business.
