Haynes was born and raised in Moss Point, Miss., and is a graduate of Pascagoula High School. Haynes will be entering his first season at Millsaps as the Defensive Coordinator.

In 2017, he was a student assistant for the Jackson State football team. Haynes helped prepare play books for students in position groups, chartered offensive play calls for practice games and assisted with film breakdown.

While at Mississippi College as a graduate assistant, he was a Safeties Coach with the Choctaws. He led individual drills, prepared scouting reports, while assisting the defensive coordinator with game planning. During his first season of coaching, he recruited the number one rusher in the state of Mississippi.

Haynes is an alumni of THEE Jackson State University where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education, Health and Recreational Administration. He is currently working on his Master’s of Science in Athletic Administration at Mississippi College.
