Coach Baxley joined the coaching staff in February of 2026.

Baxley began his coaching career at just 19 years old. Following the conclusion of his high school playing career, he volunteered as both a coach and a league director for the Irving Boys Football Association. During this time, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama from the University of Dallas.

Upon graduating, he traveled north, where he spent two years as the Special Teams Coordinator, Linebackers Coach, and JV Head Coach for Mount Michael Benedictine High School. At Mount Michael, he helped take a program, with a record of 1-16 for the previous two seasons, to their first playoff appearance since 2019.

Following the 2023 season, Baxley made the jump from high school to college by joining the coaching staff at Midland University where he again served as Linebackers Coach. In his two years with that team, he helped the Warriors cut their allowed point-per-game average from 26.1 down to 21.3 and then down to 20.4 the following year. Both years that Baxley was there, the Warriors boasted a nationally ranked Top 25 Defense and a pair of winning seasons. During this time, he also earned a Master of Science degree in sports administration and leadership.
