Jackson, MS - The Millsaps Women's Basketball team rallied from behind against LeTourneau to earn their second straight win.

The Majors overcame a 12-point deficit earlier tonight to begin the year 2-0. The Millsaps bench scored 38 points to help earn the victory, as they held a commanding advantage for points in the paint with 28 to the Yellow Jacket's 10. The Majors also led in second chance points 22-19.

After leading early in the first quarter, LeTourneau rallied to lead 19-13. The Yellow Jacket's early lead was in large part due to the effective three-point shooting. LeTourneau shot 50 percent in three pointers by going 4-8 in the first 20 minutes of play.

The Majors, who trailed 37-33 at the half, were only shooting 30 percent from threes by going 3-10. Millsaps, however, would rally to outscore the Yellow Jackets 38-28 in the second half.

Trailing 47-46 in the third quarter,
Kim Klunk drained a three-pointer to give the Majors their first lead in over two quarters of play. From there, the Majors took over.Â
Miah Brooks drilled a jumper early in the four quarter to continue the positive momentum for Millsaps.

The Majors scored the next six points to lead 57-51. The game turned into a back-and-forth contest from there as the Yellow Jackets again took the lead 63-62. A
Braxton Thomas layup gave the lead back to Millsaps where they never trailed again.

Leading 66-65 the Majors scored the next five points to close out the game and earn their second straight win.Â
Braxton Thomas led the way in scoring with 15 points while
Miah Brooks had 14. Thomas also led in blocks with two while
Kasi Matthews and
Katie Connor both totaled 13 points.

The Majors will look to continue the positive momentum and fast start to the season with a pair of games in Louisiana this weekend. The Majors will travel to Shreveport to face Centenary and Austin.
