Atlanta, GA - The Millsaps Women's Basketball Team earned their first conference win of the season with a 48-41 victory over Oglethorpe earlier tonight.
Tonight's contest continues a six-game road trip for the Majors as they earned their seventh win of the season. The Majors never trailed and led by as much as 20 en route to a convincing road victory. With the win, Millsaps Women's Basketball now moves to 1-1 in conference play on the year.

Miah Brooks continued her excellent play in tonight's contest by leading the Majors with her second straight double-double. Brooks finished with 14 rebounds (12 defensive boards, two offensive) and 13 points on the night. Her most recent performance comes after a double-double against LaGrange earlier in the week. She also totaled three steals and a block in tonight's win over Oglethorpe.
The Majors never trailed in tonight's contest by starting the game on a 13-6 run in the first period. The Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe attempted a late run to make the contest a two-possession game by outscoring Millsaps 26-17 in the second half, but the Majors held off the comeback rally to earn the win.
In shooting totals, Oglethorpe shot 28 percent (14-50) from the field and 38.5 percent (5-13) on three pointers while Millsaps finished shooting 34.6 percent (18-52) from the field and 12.5 percent (1-8) from the field. Millsaps outscored Oglethorpe for points in the paint (28-10), points off turnover (12-8), and second chance points (8-1).
The Majors will complete the long, six-game road trip with another game in Georgia later this weekend. Next up for the Millsaps Women's Basketball Team is a conference matchup against Berry. Tip off from Mount Berry, Georgia is set for this Sunday, Jan. 10th at 1 pm EST.
