SERIES:  The Majors will line up against conference foe Centre in Danville, Kentucky this weekend. In the last ten meetings between the two teams, Millsaps has a 7-3 advantage and will be looking to improve upon that record.

LAST OUTING: Millsaps: In a 42-14 loss to Hendrix, the Majors offense was led by Taz Watson who led the Majors rushing attack with 103 yards. Andrew Warren chipped in 72 yards as well in route to the Majors amassing 207 yards on the ground. Beau Wells led the Majors in receiving with four receptions for 28 yards and a catch for a two point conversion with Watson behind him recording three receptions for 36 yards. Chance Clowers threw for 163 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, Jared Bullock led in tackles with 6.5 total tackles and five assists. He also was responsible for two tackles for loss. Malcolm Ben followed close behind with six solo tackles.

 

Centre: In a 35-28 loss to Hendrix, Quarterback Devin Hayes finished 23-of-43 for 336 yards with four touchdown passes and an interception. The QB was also the Colonels' leading rusher, tallying 35 yards on 11 attempts. Wide receiver Cody Estep had 95 yards on five catches with a touchdown. Duncan Mercer made six receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown, and WR Colin Bradley added seven catches for 74 yards and a score. Defensively, linebacker Andrew Busby had nine tackles, followed by senior defensive end Trey Yeager and senior defensive back Conor Linneen with eight tackles apiece. Defensive back Cal Lewellyn also had seven tackles and his third interception of the season.

PAST MEETINGS:  Centre beat Millsaps 31-17 last year in conference play. Majors threw for a combined 265 passing yards and one touchdown, with Chance Clowers contributing 232 yards and Zach Borne making one big play. Majors also ran for 40 yards, with Taz Watson leading the way.
Two years prior, Centre snatched a 27-0 victory at home.
In 2013, Millsaps won a close 28-27 game at home against Centre.


COACHES: Millsaps head coach Aaron Pelch is 40-32 into his eighth season at the helm of the Majors, with his best year coming in 2013 with a record of 9-1.
Pelch was named SAA Coach of the Year in both 2012 and 2013 as he guided the Majors to conference championships.
Pelch is 5-3 vs. Centre.

Andy Frye, the all-time winningest coach in Centre history, has been the head football coach of the Colonels since the 1998 season and will lead them against Millsaps this Saturday. Frye has a 118-63 career record at Centre.
