Box Score 2 Montgomery, AL – The Millsaps Softball Team dropped a pair of games to Auburn Montgomery earlier today by scores of 4-0 and 3-0.
Today's game continues the longest road trip of the season for the Majors, as they dropped a pair of games to nationally ranked Auburn Montgomery. With the loss, the Majors drop to 6-6 on the year while the Warhawks improve to 10-1.
In the first game, Auburn Montgomery scored twice in the first inning on a two RBI double down the left field line. The Warhawks added two more runs in the second and never looked back to secure a 4-0 win.
The Majors totaled two hits in the first game via
Missy Romero and
Sarah Scales. Auburn Montgomery finished with four runs on six hits and one error.
In the second game, Auburn Montgomery tallied two runs in second and one in the fifth. A solo homerun and RBI single gave the Warhawks a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Another solo homerun in the fifth completed the scoring for the afternoon, as Auburn Montgomery secured a 3-0 win.
The Majors totaled two hits in the second game via
Kat Romero and
Katelyn Murray. The Warhawks finished with three runs on nine hits and no errors.
The Majors will look to rebound with a set of games in Clermont, Florida for spring break. Millsaps Softball will face eight teams over five days starting with Wesley College on March 7th.
First pitch from Hancock Park against Wesley is set for Monday, March 7th at 1:00 pm.
