Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Men's Tennis team completed the weekend of play with a convincing 9-0 victory over Hendrix on Sunday.
The Majors celebrated Senior Day as
Emerson Brundick,
Thomas Mills and
Sean Solomonoff graduate this semester following outstanding careers both on and off the court of play for Millsaps. The Majors led all throughout Sunday's match securing an early lead in doubles play, 3-0. Sunday's match also closes out the regular season with the Majors finishing 13-9 overall and 3-4 in SAA play.
The duo of
Alex Centurion and
Diego Marti-Vertiz got things started with a convincing win at the one spot 8-1.
Cameron Doles and
Davis Plummer also secured a convincing win of 8-0 at the three spot while
Emerson Brundick and
Cooper Cearley earned an 8-5 win at the doubles two spot.
Millsaps led 3-0 after the doubles matchups – and never looked back. The Majors secured their most dominant singles performance of the season winning all six matches by a combined 72-1.
Diego Marti-Vertiz,
Alex Centurion and
Emerson Brundick all helped the Majors clinch the match with wins of 6-0, 6-0.
Davis Plummer and
Avinash Ananth also earned 6-0, 6-0 victories while
Sean Solomonoff closed out the solid day of play with a 6-1, 6-0 win.
Men's Tennis completes the regular season with an overall record of 13-9 and 3-4 in SAA play. The Majors will travel next weekend for the SAA Tournament held at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Opening play for the conference tournament is set to begin on Friday, April 29th.
