Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Men's Tennis Team earned their first conference win of the season with a 9-0 victory over Berry at home.
 
Saturday's matchup marks the first of the weekend, as the Majors improve to 11-5 (1-1) with the win.  The Majors began the convincing 9-0 win with effective doubles play and later clinched the match winning all six singles matchups.
 
The duo of Diego Marti-Vertiz and Alex Centurion got things started with an impressive 8-0 win at the doubles one spot.  Emerson Brundick and Cooper Clearley then earned an 8-5 win at the two spot while Ryan Henry and Cameron Doles completed the solid doubles play with an 8-4 win.
 
In singles play, the Majors earned a win at the one spot via Diego Marti-Vertiz.  Alex Centurion then earned a hard fought win at the two spot securing the victory in three sets 6-1, 4-6, 10-4. 
 
Emerson Brundick then continued his solid play with a 6-4, 6-3 win at the three spot while Avinash Ananth earned a win at the fourth spot 6-1, 6-0.  At the fifth spot, Josh Shearin kept the positive momentum going with a solid 7-5, 6-4 win.  Sean Solomonoff then closed out the match solidifying a 6-0, 6-1 win at the singles sixth spot.
 
The Majors will look to use the momentum from Saturday's excellent performance, as they face another conference matchup tomorrow, April 3rd.  Millsaps Men's Tennis will host Oglethorpe for the second and final match of the weekend.
 
Opening play against the Stormy Petrels is set for 11:30 am.
