Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Men's Tennis team fell in the final game of the weekend to Oglethorpe by a score of 5-4.
 
Sunday's loss drops the Majors to 11-6 (1-2) while the Stormy Petrels improve to 9-4 (2-1).  Millsaps earned wins at the three, five and six spots in singles play, but eventually fell to Oglethorpe 5-4.
 
Millsaps fell behind 2-1 in doubles play earning a win at the two spot.  The duo of Emerson Brundick and Cooper Cearley secured the two spot win 8-4 to put the Majors on the board.
 
In singles play, Oglethorpe earned wins at the one and two spots.  Emerson Brundick then gave the Majors a boost with a win at the three spot 6-3, 6-4.  Oglethorpe later clinched the match with a win at the four spot, but Davis Plummer and Josh Shearin responded well with solid wins at the five and six spots.
 
Plummer secured a hard fought win in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 at the five spot while Shearin closed out the day of play with a 6-3, 6-0 sixth spot win.
 
Now at 11-6, the Majors will look to rebound quickly with another home game set for tomorrow, April 4th.  Millsaps Men's Tennis will host Belhaven for a non-conference matchup with play beginning at 4:00 pm.
