Murfreesboro, TN – The Millsaps Men's Tennis team fell to Sewanee by a score of 5-0 in the SAA Tournament.
 
Saturday's match marked the second day of conference tournament action at Old Fort Park as the fifth seeded Majors fell to the top seeded Tigers.  Sewanee, who is ranked in the top ten regionally, advances to the conference championship match while the Majors end the season with an overall record of 14-10 and 3-4 in conference play.
 
The Tigers began the day with a 3-0 lead after doubles play.  Sewanee earned two hard-fought victories at the one and three spots by scores of 8-6, respectively.  The duos of Alex Centurion, Deigo Marti-Vertiz and Davis Plummer, Cameron Doles fought hard in the intense matches, but the Tigers secured wins to hold an early lead. 
 
From there, Sewanee clinched the match with wins at the one and two singles spots to advance.  
 
The Majors complete the successful season after the tournament run to the semifinals as seniors Sean Solomonoff, Thomas Mills and Emerson Brundick will all graduate after outstanding careers with the Majors both on and off the court of play.  With a great precedent set from outstanding senior leadership, Millsaps Men's Tennis will continue to build on the successful 2016 campaign moving into next season and beyond.
