Danville, KY – The Millsaps Men's Tennis team earned their second win in conference play with a victory at Centre on Saturday.
 
Saturday's road matchup marks the first of two contests for Men's Tennis this weekend.  With the win, Millsaps improves to 12-7 on the year and 2-2 in conference play while Centre falls to 5-9 and 1-3.
 
Millsaps gained a great deal of early momentum going undefeated in doubles play.  The duo of Alex Centurion and Diego Marti-Vertiz got things started with an 8-3 win at the one spot.  Cooper Cearley and Emerson Brundick earned a convincing win at the two spot (8-2) while Cameron Doles and Ryan Henry completed doubles play with a hard fought victory at the three spot, 9-7.
 
In singles play, the Majors clinched the match winning five of the six matchups.  Diego Marti-Vertiz and Alex Centurion secured victories at the one and two spot while Emerson Brundick and Avinash Ananth both earned intense wins in three sets.
 
After winning the first set 7-5, Brundick's opponent responded in the second winning 6-2.  In the third set, Brundick answered with a tough 10-8 victory.  Ananth faced a similar challenge, winning the first set, but dropping the second.  He also secured a close victory in the third set winning 11-9 to complete the solid match at the four spot.
 
Centre earned a win at the five spot, as Sean Solomonoff closed out play at the six spot winning 6-4, 6-1.
 
The Majors secured the 8-1 victory, as they continue the road trip for a conference matchup with Sewanee tomorrow, April 10th.  Opening play between the Majors and Tigers is set to begin at 10:00 am.
