JACKSON, Miss. – The women's soccer team will look for their first win of the season when they go to Clinton, Miss. to face Mississippi College on Friday, Sept. 16.
The Majors (0-4-1) have been unlucky this season, defeated by a lack of depth due to injuries. With two days to rest between games, Millsaps is looking to turn the season around against MC and grab their first win of the season.
Molly Ambrose leads Millsaps in goals scored with two goals and has recorded 18 shots with seven shots on goal.
Other Major standouts are
Emily Gager and
Grayston Barron. Gager scored a goal for Millsaps and has tallied three shots with two on goal. Barron is ranked second on team in shots taken with 10 and four on goal.
So far this season, the Majors have scored three goals on 44 shots with 18 shots on goal.
Olivia Gattuso has tried to make up for the lack of depth on the field at the goal and has recorded 44 saves on 85 shots faced with 19 goals allowed. Despite her 0-4-1 record, Gattuso holds a .698 save percentage.
The last time the two teams met was during the 2015 season. MC defeated Millsaps 5-0 at Harper Davis Field.
