BOX SCORE MARSHALL, Tx. -- The Millsaps Tennis team opened their Texas road trip with a stop in Marshall, TX to take on the Tigers of East Texas Baptist University.

Centurion and Marti-Vertiz reunited at number 1 doubles for the first time this season winning 8-5. Cearley and Doles found themselves down quickly after a slow start only to fall 2-8. Freshman, Brandon Beck and Junior, Avinash Ananth continue to entertain Major fans sealing the 2-1 lead going into singles.
 

Centurion and Friedler continue to play solid singles winning in straight sets at the 2 and 3 spots. Marti-Vertiz clinched the match for the Majors winning 6-1, 6-4. Avinash Ananth had a battle at the 4 spot, but fell 2-6, 4-6.

 

Brandon Beck continues to improve and impress by fighting off break points to win in straight sets 6-2, 7-6. Josh Shearin topped off the evening in winning fashion adding another point to the Majors victory over ETBU.

 

The Millsaps Tennis team travels next to University of Texas at Tyler to take on the Patriots Saturday at 10:00 am and Austin College Sunday at 10:00 am
