BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Mar. 18, 2017) - Millsaps Softall team split their road doubleheader against conference foe Birmingham-Southern. A 1-1 record today brings Millsaps to 16-7 on the season.
In the first game, Millsaps fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 6-0 loss to BSC on Saturday. BSC scored on a home run by Savannah Lee in the first inning, a single by Maddie Ridgeway in the second inning, and a single by Kendall Hamm in the second inning. Though Millsaps was shutout, single Kat Romero went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
Kayla Davidson drew the start at pitcher. Davidson gave up nine hits and got the L for the game.
In game two of the series, Millsaps defeated BSC 4-2 in a back-and-forth affair. The game was tied at two with Millsaps batting in the top of the seventh when
Rayne Gravat singled off of pitcher Haley Crumpton, driving in two runs.
The Majors had nine hits in the game.

Blair Little each collected multiple hits for the squad. Gravat led Millsaps with two runs batted in. She went 3-for-4 on the day as well.
Cassidy DeNoon got the start at pitcher and got the W. In seven innings, she gave up seven hits and struck out three.
