BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Mar. 19, 2017) - Millsaps Softball remained on the road and closed out their weekend three game series against Birmingham-Southern with a 5-2 win. This win brings the Majors to 17-7 on the season and 5-1 in conference play.
Late runs in the fifth and sixth inning were the story of this game for Millsaps.
Cassidy Hendrix scored on an error in the fifth inning.
Rayne Gravat batted in two runners in the sixth inning on a double to right field. Then,
Rayner LeBlanc and
MK Bozeman batted runners in to give the Majors a game-high four runs in the top of the sixth inning. LeBlanc had the best afternoon hitting for the Majors, she went 2-2 at the plate.
Cassidy DeNoon got the start at the mound and didn't give up any runs to BSC until the seventh inning. DeNoon got the W, gave up only five hits and struck out one batter.
