The Millsaps College men's soccer team will head to Memphis on Saturday as they face off against Rhodes in the first round of the SAA Men's Soccer Tournament. Check out the preview below for a recap of the Majors season and a preview of the Majors/Lynx matchup.  
 
Season In Review
 
The Majors came into 2018 with a lot of new faces, as 13 players were making their debut for Millsaps. On top of all the new players, Millsaps was bitten by the injury bug, as starting goalkeeper and captain, Alfie Miller, has missed more than half the season with a knee injury while 4-year starting defender Nathaniel Edwards' season was limited to just 3 matches. 
 
The Majors started the season 2-3-1 before dropping 9 of their next 10 matches, their lone victory coming in overtime against Hendrix on Sept. 29. 
 
Millsaps has been shutout in their last 6 matches, but the chances have been there. Head coach Steve Voltz has praised his team for creating opportunities but said that the team has really struggled with finishing in front of the net, something the Majors will have to do to take down Rhodes. 
 
Offensively, the Majors were led by juniors Brett Judd and Jeff Bruni, who led the team with 4 goals apiece. Judd also leads the team with 39 shots, which puts him at 6^thin the SAA. Luca Kistner added three goals for Millsaps while Christian Zamiela and Throstur Saemundsson added a goal each. New captain, Gabriel Ryce, added 3 assists, Jeff Owens had a pair and Kistner, Bruno Marques, Ruben Hamann, Ethan Brunet and Wayne Dowdy each had an assist.  
 
Freshman Tyler Andrews has been thrust into action as the Majors starting netminder. He's made 56 saves on the year and is allowing 3.47 goals/match. 
 
Rhodes College (9-4-0, 5-2-0 SAA)
 
The Lynx knocked off the Majors 3-0 on Sept. 22 and ended the season with a 4-0 win over Hendrix.

• Ian Schiller-Schiller is tied for the team lead with 5 goals on the season and is the team leader with 13 points. 
• Davis Neitzschman-Tied with Schiller for the team lead with 5 goals and is just one point behind Schiller with 12. 
• Evan McMann-McMann has 4 goals on the season, with two of them coming against Millsaps in the teams' first meeting. 
• Patrick Wilkerson-Wilkerson has been strong in goal for the Lynx, only allowing 2 goals in the 7 matches he's played. His .913 save% and 0.36 GAA are both tops in the SAA.
