Majors Drop Game Three of BSC Series

JACKSON, Miss. – In the final game of the series between Millsaps and Birmingham Southern, the Majors fell 11-0 in five innings. Millsaps is now 14-11 overall and 2-6 in the SAA, while BSC improves to 19-8 on the season and 10-2 in conference play.

MK Bozeman finished 2-3 at the plate, while Leslie Norris went 1-1 with a walk.

BSC was able to get a hit in each of the first two innings, but starting pitcher Cassidy DeNoon kept them off the board to keep it scoreless after two.

The runs started to come across in bunches, beginning in the 3rd when Saydee Keith's double along with an error brought in two. Four more scored in the 4th on Haley Crumpton's double and Savannah Lee's two-run homerun, which was her second homer of the series. Finally five runs crossed the plate in the 5th when Ella Day smacked a two-run homer, another scored on a wild pitch and a double off the bat of Kendell Hamm drove in two to make it an 11-0 BSC lead.

Millsaps picked up back-to-back singles by Bozeman and Norris in the bottom of the 5th, but both runners were stranded to end the day.

The Majors resume play on Friday for a doubleheader against Centre at the Millsaps Softball Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm.
