MURFREESBORO, Tenn. –The Millsaps College men's tennis team began postseason play with the SAA Tournament on Friday morning.

In the opening round the Majors easily advanced past Centre College 5-1 to move on to the semifinals.

Davis Plummer and Alex Centurion posted an 8-3 win at doubles #1. Diego Marti-Vertiz and Brandon Beck followed that up with an 8-5 win at the #2 spot to give the Majors the 2-1 lead early on. 

Millsaps was able to capitalize on that momentum and secure their win in the first three singles matches. 

Plummer picked up his second win of the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #2. Centurion also scored his second victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win at #3. Reigning SAA Player of the Week Avinash Ananth scored a 6-0, 6-3 win at #4.

What's Next?
The Majors advance to take on Birmingham Southern. Saturday's semifinal is set for 2:00pm.
