JACKSON, Miss.—For the Millsaps men's soccer team, it seems like when it rains, it pours…literally and figuratively. 
 
After an hour and 35 minute weather delay that pushed back the start of Saturday's match, the Majors couldn't find the back of the net for the third straight game as they were shutout by visiting Rhodes College in both teams SAA openers. 
 
The Lynx got on the board early as Evan McMann took a pass from Tanner McCraney and put it past goalkeeper Tyler Andrews to give Rhodes a 1-0 lead. That's all it would take as the Majors managed just one shot on goal for the entire match. Rhodes added two insurance goals in the second half to send the majors to 0-1 in the conference. 
 
Andrews led the way with seven saves. Offensively, Jeff Owens had the team's lone shot on goal.

"We have to grow up in a hurry," head coach Steve Voltz said. "The second half we battled and tried to find our way back into the game, but we continue to be punished for mistakes and not find ways to create a little bit more. We just have to continue to dig and find our way into some of those games." 
 
What's Next? 
 
The Majors have a week off before the Hendrix Warriors visit Harper Davis Field for a 1:30 PM matchup next Saturday. The Majors will be celebrating Family Weekend against the Warriors.
