MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- On Saturday, the Millsaps College baseball team played a pair of games in the Huntingdon College Five Points Deli Tournament.

Game 1 vs Lynchburg
The Majors scored early and often, and were able to hold off a late rally by the Hornets to secure the 9-6 win.
Jon Dale Dieckman opened up the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 1st inning to put Millsaps ahead 1-0.
Sam Pitre, who had reached on a leadoff walk, came in to score on the play.
Momentum really shifted the Majors way in the top of the 2nd, as they scored 4 runs on 5 hits to move ahead 5-0.
Avery Brock got the inning started with a leadoff single. He scored on a

Millsaps was not done there however. After

Again it was Brock who set the table with a leadoff single. This time he scored when the Hornets made an error on a ball put in play by
Dylan McFarland. With 2 outs in the inning, Johnstone singled through the left side allowing both McFarland and
Chris Hart to score to put the Majors up 8-0.
Lynchburg cut the deficit to 8-4 in a 5th inning that saw them score 4 runs on 3 hits and 1 Millsaps error.
The Majors got that run back in the 6th however when McFarland singled to bring home Hart.
The Hornets hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 8th, but
Ryan Erwin retired the next three batters in order to end the rally. He worked around a base hit in the 9th, striking out the side to secure the 9-6 win for Millsaps.
