SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Millsaps College softball team wrapped up this weekend's trip through the Lone Star State by playing a doubleheader at Our Lady of the Lake University on Sunday.
The host Saints are a NAIA school from the Red River Conference.
In the first game, a late Millsaps rally fell short in a 5-4 loss. The Saints, aided by 7 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning, took game two 9-0 to complete the doubleheader sweep.
The Majors are now 3-3 overall on the year.
Game 1

Gia Zeringue led off the inning with a double. After a
Kendall Carder sacrifice bunt, Zeringue scored on a
Brooklyn Wascom double. Wascom was brought home on a Saints error to give the Majors a 2-1 lead.
Amber Funderburk turned in 3 scoreless innings to keep OLLU off the scoreboard, but the Saints broke through for 4 runs in the 5th to move ahead 5-2.
Millsaps got a pair of those runs back in the 6th when Carder doubled to bring home
Cameron Trussell and
Lindsey Osbon, but unfortunately the Majors' rally fell short.
