JACKSON, Miss. -- For the second consecutive season Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament basketball was played inside the Hangar Dome, and for the second consecutive season the Millsaps College women's basketball team is moving on to the semifinal round.
The Majors outscored the Birmingham-Southern College Panthers 22-15 in the 4th quarter to pull away for a 57-47 win.
The fourth straight victory pushes Millsaps to 13-13 on the season.
How It Happened
The game was back-and-forth for the better part of three quarters, with neither team able to lead by more than a few possessions.
It was actually BSC who held the early advantage. The Panthers led 13-11 after the 1st quarter, and carried a 22-20 lead into the halftime locker room.
The momentum started to shift in the 3rd quarter as the Majors outscored BSC 15-10 to pull ahead 35-32.
The 4th quarter was all Millsaps down the stretch, as they pulled away from the Panthers late for the 57-47 win.

Dia Fortenberry three-pointer gave the Majors a seven point lead with 5:30 still left to play, but BSC fought back.
The Panthers got to within three points on two separate occasions.
Millsaps had an answer however. After a Fortenberry steal the Majors called timeout. Coming out of the huddle
Megan Donaldson connected on her third three-pointer of the afternoon to put Millsaps up 53-47.
Defensively, the Majors held BSC scoreless for the final 1:47 of play, and sealed their win at the free throw making all four of their attempts inside the final minute of the game.
Notables
Fortenberry finished as the lone Millsaps player in double-figures, leading all scorers with 23 points. She also pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds, and added 5 steals on the defensive end of the floor.
The Majors were active on the defensive end of the floor all game long, scoring 22 points off of 15 Panther turnovers. Millsaps also had the advantage underneath the baskets, outscoring BSC 36-20 on points inside the paint.
What's Next?
The Majors travel to Atlanta, Ga. for a semifinal matchup with the No. 1 seeded Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe University. Tip off on Saturday afternoon is set for 3:00 p.m. CT.
