LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Easton and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently released its All-America Scholar-Athlete Awards. The Millsaps College softball team had an exceptional school year in the classroom with 13 students who qualified for the honor.
To be eligible, the students must achieve at least a 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) during the 2020-21 academic year. The Southern Athletic Association had 63 student-athletes represent the conference out of more than 8,800 students nationwide. Millsaps garnered the third-most honorees in the SAA.
More than 8,800 student-athletes named 2020-21 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes are the highest number to date. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,375 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher.
Team rankings and individual honors are submitted by member head coaches and recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories from high school to NCAA Division I.
