FRIDAY – GAME ONE
The Majors led from start to finish Friday night at Beau Chene High School in Armaudville, Louisiana. After Millsaps scored one run in the top of the first courtesy of a
Lindsey Osbon RBI, both teams went scoreless for the next four innings.
The Majors scored four runs in the last two innings to claim a 5-0 victory.
Millsaps sophomore starting pitcher
Hannah Derouen was outstanding. She pitched a complete game, three-hit shutout with six strikeouts to earn her first win of the season.
Junior first baseman
Brooklyn Wascom had the play of the game with a three-run homer in the sixth inning to provide breathing room. Osbon had a strong outing, going 2-for-3 at the plate with the one RBI. Right fielder
Kat Reeves also got into the action with two hits. Pinch hitter
Brianna Newman registered an RBI in the seventh inning to cap the scoring.
SATURDAY – GAME TWO
A late rally was enough for Centenary to upend the Majors in Game Two on Saturday, 4-1.
Osbon got the lone RBI for Millsaps in the first inning with a single that scored freshman left fielder
Molli Perry. Osbon also was the lone Major to register multiple hits in the game with two.
Senior pitcher
Karley Williams registered a complete game while allowing no hits through four innings.
The Centenary Ladies got in the scoring column in the fifth inning with an RBI single. A throwing error from Williams in the sixth inning was enough to push the Ladies' lead up to two at 3-1. An RBI single in the bottom of the sixth was the final tally for the Ladies.
SATURDAY – GAME THREE
Hayleigh Rogers pitched a three-hit complete game to help give the Majors a 3-2 victory in Game Three.
Neither team was able to get on the scoring board in the first two innings. A sacrifice fly by
Perry scored junior short stop
Katelyn Norse in the third inning. Moments later, Osbon tallied an RBI single that scored
Leslie Norris from third to push the lead up to 2-0.
A home run by Centenary cut the lead down to 2-1 in the bottom of the third. A throwing error by the Ladies' shortstop was enough to get
Norris home in the fifth and recapture a two-run lead.
The final score of the game came from Centenary in the sixth off an infielder's choice and steal of home. The Majors would hold off the Ladies for a final score of 3-2.
