ATLANTA – Millsaps men's soccer freshman forward
Jacks Dowdy was unstoppable with the ball at his feet in his first season with the Majors. His efforts were recognized by the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) as he was named to the All-SAA Men's Soccer Second Team on Tuesday.
Coaches from across the league voted on student-athletes most deserving of the honor and the SAA made the announcement.
Dowdy, a native of Hammond, Louisiana, led the Majors in several statistical categories and was a threat any time he was left unmarked on the attack. He tallied team bests for goals with three, shots on goal with nine and shot attempts with 19. His rate of 3.17 shots per game were third most in the conference.
The Hammond High School product scored twice at Rhodes on March 14 and once against Birmingham-Southern on April 3.
