ATLANTA – Millsaps men's tennis junior John Kimball held down Courts 1 and 2 against quality foes all spring long. On Wednesday, the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) took note and tabbed him Second Team All-Conference.
Coaches from across the league nominated and voted on the players and peers found most deserving of the honors following the regular season.
Kimball finished 2021 with nine victories combined across Courts 1 and 2 in singles and doubles. He finished 3-4 at No. 1 singles and 6-4 on the first two courts in doubles.
The Accounting major defeated Eric Meyne of Hendrix to open the season, 6-2, 6-2 to help power the Majors to a 9-0 triumph.
The Germantown, Tenn., product was also victorious in doubles in three Millsaps victories. Kimball won two matches against Hendrix, March 6-7 and added a crucial point in a 5-4 win over Centre on March 13.
