Agnes Gee Resigns as Millsaps Head Tennis Coach

Gee Guided Both Men’s and Women’s Tennis Programs Previous Five Seasons

JACKSON, Miss. – A national search begins for the next Millsaps College men's and women's tennis coach after head coach Agnes Gee announced her resignation on Monday. Gee helmed both programs the previous five seasons.

"I am grateful for Coach Gee's hard work and dedication across both our tennis programs these previous five seasons," said Millsaps College Director of Athletics Justin LeBlanc. "Her contributions to both teams will be greatly missed."

During Gee's tenure, the Majors totaled eight Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tennis Athletes of the Week as well as nine SAA Doubles Team of the Week. On March 26, 2025, Millsaps swept all four honors in the same week.

The Majors tallied 10 All-SAA honors and an ITA x Universal Tennis Player of the Week.

In the classroom, Millsaps excelled under Gee's leadership. The Majors tallied 51 SAA Spring Academic Honor Roll members, and 43 ITA Scholar-Athletes to date.

Additionally, 11 different tennis student-athletes made Club 40 and collectively covered 17 total semesters with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Gee was a four-time All-American for the Rebels. She also played professionally from 1988-1995.

In 2000, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and obtained a master's degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law a year later.

Prior to her time at Millsaps, Gee was a freelance tennis professional in Oxford and Tupelo, Miss. From 2002 through 2011, she became an assistant tennis professional at the River Hills Club of Jackson.

Gee then worked as the head tennis pro for the Racquet Club at Cypress Lake (2011-14) as well as the Ridgeland Tennis Center (2014-16). She most recently spent the previous years returning to teach and organize events at the River Hills Club once more in Jackson.

A national search for the next Millsaps College men's and women's tennis coach begins immediately.
