NEW ORLEANS – The field events have been extraordinary for the Millsaps men's track & field program in the spring and those talents were recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday.
Junior
Storm Buescher (San Antonio, Texas) and sophomore
Christopher Butler (New Orleans, La.) were named All-Region for the South/Southeast by the USTFCCCA following the conclusion of the regular season.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region garnered All-Region honors as well as the members of any top-3 ranked relay team.
Buescher matched his school record in the high jump at 2.00 meters (6 feet-6.75 inches) on April 3, which tied him for the 33rd best jump in the nation.
Butler set a known-listed Southern Athletic Association record in the long jump with a bound of 7.30 meters (23 feet-11.5 inches) on May 14 at the Carey Last Chance Meet. The distance was far enough to clinch a spot at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Butler, who ranks 13th nationally, will compete on Thursday, May 27, beginning at 1 p.m. CT with live video available at
