JACKSON, Miss. – A flurry of athletic competitions highlight the Millsaps Athletics calendar this weekend and next Monday. Football travels to Texas, men's and women's soccer continues non-conference play with several home matches, volleyball opens its SAA conference slate and women's golf begins its season in Louisiana.
Football: The Majors return to action after a bye week following a Week 1 loss to Belhaven on Sept. 2. Millsaps football travels to Waxahachie, Texas to face Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in on Saturday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is slated for noon CT with live video and live stats available at gomajors.com.

Millsaps will then welcome in Olivet College with another noon kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 25. Football season tickets, which includes all five scheduled home games, may be purchased

Men's Soccer: The Majors split two games in Texas last weekend, downing East Texas Baptist University, 2-1 before falling to LeTourneau University, 3-1. Sophomore forward
Jacks Dowdy scored twice on the weekend, while graduate midfielder
Ruben Hamann provided a wonderous strike to lift the Majors over ETBU.
Millsaps will welcome Blue Mountain College on Friday, Louisiana College on Saturday and Belhaven on Monday. All matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Women's Soccer: The Majors fell to ETBU, 4-0 but recovered with a 2-2 draw at LeTourneau last week.
Camille Blanchard scored twice at LETU and was named the Capital Ortho Women's Major of the Week.
She will look to help the Majors sink LSU-Shreveport at Harper Davis Field on Friday and take down LaGrange College in Georgia on Sunday.
Volleyball: Millsaps volleyball dominated its way to three victories at the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrel Classic last Friday and Saturday. The Majors won nine of 10 sets to improve to 5-2 and finish non-conference play. Both senior middle hitter

Hannah Mattke were named to the Stormy Petrel Classic All-Tournament Team.
Millsaps will head to the Peach State to challenge No. 7 Berry on Saturday and face Oglethorpe on Sunday, with both matches starting at 11 a.m. CT.
Women's Golf: The Majors will face Centenary College in a dual, beginning at 1 p.m. in Shreveport, La. on Monday. There will be no live leaderboard, but fans can check gomajors.com for results and recap to follow.
The women's team sees all three members from the spring back to compete with four newcomers. Junior
