MT. BERRY, Ga. – The Millsaps football team was defeated by Berry College, 56-0 inside Valhalla Stadium on Saturday.
Freshman running back
Kylance Parish tallied 56 yards on 11 carries and sophomore wideout
Connor Ladner led the Majors with two receptions for 32 yards.
Defensively sophomore
Thomas Patterson secured a game-high 11 tackles, including 2.0 TFLs. Both senior
Christopher Butler and sophomore
Jett Coolman added seven tackles.
Millsaps (3-5, 2-3 SAA) was held scoreless, while Berry (5-3, 3-2 SAA) amassed 609 yards of offense on the day.
Both teams were forced into three-and-outs on their opening possessions before the Vikings opened the scoring midway through the first quarter. Berry then added a second touchdown with four minutes remaining in the opening quarter.
The Millsaps and Berry defenses would tighten up until the Vikings scored again with just over six minutes to play in the second quarter. On Berry's final drive of the half they would make it 28-0 following another score.
The Vikings added four more touchdowns by the midway mark of the fourth quarter for a 56-0 lead. Millsaps would drive 50 yards down to the Berry 16-yard line, but would be held on a fourth-and-long attempt on its final offensive position.
Millsaps next hosts Trinity for Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 5. Senior recognition will begin at 11:30 a.m. with kickoff slated for noon. Live video and live stats will be provided at gomajors.com.
