Bryan Sullivan Readies for Three Events at NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championships

Live Stream of Prelims Begin at 9 a.m. CT with Top-Eight Finals Slated for 5 p.m., March 16-18

JACKSON, Miss. – The time has finally arrived for fifth year Millsaps men's swimming and diving student-athlete Bryan Sullivan to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.

The championships will take place inside IUPUI's IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, March 16-19 with a live stream each day on NCAA.com. Preliminary heats for the first event will begin at 9 a.m. CT each day, with top-eight finals slated for a 5 p.m. CT start.

Sullivan's time of 20.25 in the 50-yard freestyle was fast enough to qualify him for the national championships. Being invited as a top-16 finisher in the event, he will also get to compete in up to three events total during the week of competition.

He will race in the 50 free (event 5) on Wednesday, the 100 fly (event 13) on Thursday and the 100 back (event 21) on Friday.

The Jackson, Miss., native was named the SAA Men's Swimmer of the Year and Co-Newcomer of the Year on Feb. 20 after claiming three total conference titles in the 50 free, 100 fly and 100 back. Also named to the All-SAA First Team, he set two conference meet records during the prelims.

Additionally, he set four open conference records during the regular season in the same three events as well as the 100 IM. His time of 49.83 set at conference record and ranks first for NCAA Division III and 20th across all divisions.

The Neuroscience major also holds nine individual school records and is a member of three record-breaking relay records.

Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corp will serve as hosts for nationals. A total of 579 participants (526 swimmers and 53 divers) are scheduled to compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the swimming portion of the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered. The complete list of all swimmers competing in the championships is available here.
