JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps softball team was defeated by No. 8 Birmingham-Southern in a pair of games, 17-0 and 6-0 at the Millsaps College Softball Complex on Saturday.
Seniors
Kat Reeves and
Katelyn Norse drew walks, while sophomore
Molli Perry reached first on an error for the lone Major baserunners in game one. The Panthers plated nine runs in the opening inning en route to a 17-0 win.
In game two, senior
Hayleigh Rogers (Laurel, Miss.) did well in 4.0 IP in relief. She struck out one batter, while only surrendering four hits, one walk and one run.
Senior
Brooklyn Wascom tallied two hits, while Norris one of her own. Both Reeves and sophomore
Mackenzie Fleming (Long Beach, Miss.) earned walks.
Birmingham-Southern scored three runs in the second, two in the third and one in the sixth to pull away for a 6-0 decision.
