ATLANTA – A dynamic week by Millsaps softball sophomore center fielder
Molli Perry was recognized across the conference as she was named the Southern Athletic Association Softball Player of the Week on Monday.
Perry was instrumental in helping the Majors post a 4-1 record on the week. She finished 9-for-17 with eight stolen bases in five games. Additionally, Perry scored nine runs, posted three RBIs, one triple, one double and earned one walk.
In two games on Wednesday in a split with Hanover College, she couldn't be stopped on the diamond with four combined stolen bases, a walk, two runs scored and three base hits.
Perry's bat really warmed up during the weekend when the Majors swept Centre. It was the first time since 2016 in which Millsaps won three consecutive games via the run rule. The Business major went 6-for-10 at the plate, scored seven times, recorded two RBIs and added a double and a triple.
The Majors are next scheduled to face six non-conference opponents during THE Spring Games in Florida. Millsaps softball's first foe will be SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, beginning at 1:45 p.m. CT.
