NATCHITOCHES, La. – A trio of Millsaps men's track and field upperclassmen excelled at the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational on Saturday. Seniors
Storm Buescher and
Sergey Kolesnik along with junior
Christopher Butler put on a show at the Walter P. Ledet Track Complex.
Buescher leapt to sensational heights in the high jump, clearing 2.05 meters (6' 8.75"). He won the event against DI competition and bettered his own school record of 2.00m. The clearance currently ranks him tied for sixth across NCAA Division III.
On the track, Kolesnik ran a blistering 11.06 seconds in the 100-meter dash. The time ranks him second in the program's record book.
Butler also had a strong day in the men's long jump. He posted a season-best leap of 7.05m to finish third out of 18 competitors.
The Majors will next compete in the SAA Track & Field Championships, April 29-30 in Mount Berry, Ga. Live results will be available at gomajors.com.
