Christopher Butler and senior
Sergey Kolesnik represented the Millsaps men's track and field program at the Carey Last Chance Meet on Friday. The duo were looking to improve their marks in an attempt to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships.
Butler competed in the long jump, while Kolesnik raced in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at the William Carey University Track & Field Complex.
On his sixth and final attempt, Butler posted his best leap in the long jump covering 6.90 meters (22' 7.75"). The New Orleans, La., product finished fourth in the event.
Kolesnik finished eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.23 seconds. He also ended the 200-meter dash in 12th place with an impressive time of 22.70 seconds. The mark now stands as the fifth fastest in program history.
