ATLANTA – A quartet of Millsaps tennis student-athletes were recognized as members of the Southern Athletic Association All-Conference Team, following an announcement and vote by league coaches on Friday.
Senior John Kimball earned a spot on the First Team, junior Camille Fremaux made the Second Team, while both Marissa Brown and Trevor Vaccaro garnered All-SAA Honorable Mention status.
Kimball, a Germantown, Tenn., native tallied five wins at No. 1 singles and four victories at No. 2 doubles. His four-year career singles record sits at 19-17 in dual matches. This is the second consecutive season Kimball has been named All-SAA, having made the Second Team in 2021.
Fremaux ended the season with five consecutive victories across Courts 1, 2 and 3 singles for a 6-9 mark. She added a 7-5 doubles record primarily on Court 1 and owns an impressive 21-9 career pairing tally through three seasons at Millsaps.
The Baton Rouge, La., product was tabbed the SAA Women's Player of the Week on April 13 and was both named the ITA x Universal Tennis Player Week and was a part of the SAA Doubles Team of the Week with senior Morris Kelly Clayton in late April. Fremaux secured a spot on the 2021 All-SAA First Team and was the 2021 SAA Women's Tennis Newcomer of the Year.
Brown, hailing from Rosemary, Beach, Fla., posted a 5-8 singles record across Courts 2 and 3, while also accumulating four triumphs mainly on Court 2 doubles. She finishes her Millsaps career with a 22-16 singles mark and a 16-14 doubles dual match standing.
The 2021 season saw Brown earn a spot on the All-SAA Second Team. Both Brown and Fremaux helped the Majors claim both the SAA regular season and postseason titles as well as winning the program's first NCAA Tournament match a year ago.
Vaccaro, from Southlake, Texas, garnered five victories mainly at No. 2 singles and five doubles wins on Court 1. He along with Kimball, Fremaux and Brown all made the 2021 SAA Academic Honor Roll. The quartet looks poised to return the Honor Roll following this season's announcement.
