ATLANTA – Senior Millsaps men's track and field high jumper
Storm Buescher closed the regular season in impressive fashion and was named the final SAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts.
Buescher secured the recognition after clearing 2.05 meters (6'8.75'') at the NSU DI meet on April 23. The jump ranks tied for seventh nationally and puts the senior in a great position to qualify for the NCAA DIII Track and Field Championships scheduled for the end of May.
The San Antonio, Texas native also won his second conference title in the high jump after clearing 2.00 meters without a missed attempt on Saturday. He made the All-SAA First Team with the effort.
This is the third time in Buescher's career that he has garnered SAA Weekly honors. He earned the same recognition as a freshman on March 13, 2019 and as a junior on April 6, 2021.
A select group of Majors will now look to improve their chances of qualifying for nationals by competing in the Carey Last Chance Meet in Hattiesburg, Miss. on Friday, May 13.
