Going into the doubleheader, Centre opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth. A ground out advanced Norris to third, which was followed by back-to-back walks. Centre held off the threat with an ensuing line out.

Centre later attacked in the bottom of the sixth with an unearned run to push their lead to 2-0. Millsaps would rally back in the top of the seventh to force extra innings. Norris walked, which brought in senior Mackenzie Fleming to pinch run. Hoffpauir brought Fleming home with a double to left center.

Moments later, junior Camille Black would ground out, but allow Hoffpauir to score the tying run. Perry and junior Brianna Newman followed with singles to reach scoring position. Centre ended the opportunity with a fly out.

In top of the eighth, Norris continued to make noise with an RBI single, scoring freshman Tayler Gonzales from second base. Norris would eventually reach third base, but Centre limited the damage to 3-2.

The Colonels then reached base successfully with two of their first three batters. A triple scored both runners and ended the game, 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth.
