ATLANTA – Millsaps softball senior pitcher Hannah Derouen was nearly unhittable over the weekend and was recognized by the Southern Athletic Association as the SAA Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Derouen pitched terrific in 14.0 IP, tallying a pair of victories over Sewanee on Saturday and Sunday. She threw two complete games, holding the Tigers to one earned run and eight hits, while allowing just one walk and striking out seven batters.

In Game One's 4-1 triumph, she struck out five batters, allowed zero earned runs, yielded a walk and five hits.

She continued to dominate in Game Three of the series, powering the Majors to a 3-1 win. The Lake Charles, La., product struck out two Tigers and only surrendered three hits, one earned run and allowed zero walks.

Monday's recognition was the fourth weekly honor of Derouen's Millsaps career. She earned the plaudit once as a freshman and twice as a sophomore.

Derouen ranks fifth this season in the SAA with a 3.28 ERA, 64.0 innings pitched, 45 strikeouts and five wins.  
 
Earlier this season on Feb. 14, senior Delta Claire Newman was named SAA Pitcher of the Week, while junior Brianna Newman was tabbed SAA Player of the Week. 

The Majors will next trek to Alabama and face Birmingham-Southern in a three-game set, beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Live video and live stats will be available at gomajors.com.
