BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Millsaps softball team fell in three games at No. 18 Birmingham-Southern over the weekend by scores of 2-0, 11-1 and 9-1 at the Birmingham-Southern Softball Park.
Game 1: 2-0, L
The opening game of the series featured a pitcher's duel where the teams combined for only five hits in seven innings.

With two outs, Nolen provided a single to right field but the early momentum was quickly stopped one batter later.
The Panthers put a runner on third in the bottom of the first, but back-to-back strikeouts by Derouen ended the threat.
Strain led off the second with a walk and eventually reached third base, but was unable to score following a two-out pop up.
The teams would hold defensively until the fourth inning when the first three BSC batters would reach successfully off a double and pair of errors.
BSC would plate two runs before Millsaps would challenge again in the seventh. Strain would single and reach second on a passed ball, but be kept off the scoreboard following a pair of strikeouts.
Game 2: 11-1 (5 inns.), L
Junior
Molli Perry provided a hit and a walk in the second game on Saturday. Nolen also tallied an RBI and senior
Magen Authement scored a run.
The Panthers built a 7-0 advantage after two innings. Millsaps would work to battle back with a pair of walks to start the third. Nolen would later force a throwing error and bring Authement around to score. With the bases loaded, BSC escaped the inning with a double play.
The hosts then added four runs in the fourth to put the run-rule into effect.
Game 3: 9-1 (5 inns.), L
