CONWAY, Ark. – The Millsaps softball team could not be stopped as the Majors used terrific pitching and hot bats to earn 8-0 and 16-6 victories over Hendrix at the Warriors Softball Field on Friday.
Game 1: 8-0 (5 inn.), W
Senior
Hannah Derouen dazzled with a five-inning shutout, holding the Warriors to six hits while striking out four batters and yielding zero walks.
Classmate
Amber Clark batted 2-3 with an RBI, double and two runs scored. Sophomore
Alli Nolen (1-3) tallied two RBIs and scored a run. Additionally, junior
Molli Perry walked twice and stole two bases.
The Majors bats got off to a sizzling start, totaling four runs in the second inning. Nolen doubled home junior

Camille Black singled to the plate single
Cassidy Cannella. A fielder's choice and sacrifice fly scored runs three and four.
Millsaps added four more runs in the fourth inning. Nolen produced a two-RBI single to plate Clark and Perry. The lead would continue to grow to 8-0 with a Norris single.
Hendrix later contested with two base runners in the fourth and loaded the bases in the fifth but was unable to score. The Majors would take Game One in five innings via the eight-run rule.
Game 2: 16-6, W
The Majors were able to overcome a 6-1 deficit with 15 runs in the final three innings and claim a series victory.
Nolen batted 2-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Norris finished 3-4 with an RBI. Freshman
Julia Strain (2-5) totaled three RBIs and two runs scored. Additionally, Perry added two RBIs and three runs scored, while classmate Black crossed home plate three times.
Junior
Abigail Smith earned the win by closing out the last four innings. Smith held the Warriors scoreless with two strikeouts and only three hits against.
Strain led the Majors in the top of the first inning with a single scoring teammate Perry. Hendrix had a chance to score in the bottom of the frame, but Millsaps would push back with a double play keeping the runners from progressing.
The Warriors would make a comeback with four runs in the bottom of the third and two more in the fourth, building a 6-1 cushion.
Perry reached on an error to bring home Cannella for the first run in the top of the fifth. Continuing the inning, Nolen assisted home two runners with a double to center field hit, cutting the deficit to 6-4.
The Major would score seven runs in the sixth to regain the lead and add five in the seventh to run away with the Game Two triumph.
