Millsaps Tennis Falls at Berry on Sunday

Men were Narrowly Defeated 5-4, Women were Bested 9-0

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Millsaps men's and women's tennis programs fell to tough competition in a pair of SAA matches at Berry on Sunday. The men narrowly fell, 5-4 while the women were bested, 9-0 at the Rome Tennis Center.

Millsaps will continue on the road as they face off against Birmingham-Southern at the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex, beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Men's Recap: L, 5-4

The Millsaps men's team swept doubles with wins across Courts 1 through 3. Sophomore Carson Chassaignac and junior Jakub Bobinski as well as graduate John Kimball and senior Hamilton Jackson won, 8-6 on Courts 1 and 3, respectively. Senior Trevor Vaccaro and freshman Sam Tuli impressed with an 8-4 triumph on Court 2.

Berry was able to come back and win five of six matches in singles. Chassaignac battled, but fell in two tiebreakers, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-2) on Court 1. Vaccaro nearly forced a third set on Court 3 as well (6-1, 7-5). Kimball was victorious on Court 2 with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 decision.

Women's Recap: L, 9-0

The women's team fell 9-0 to regionally ranked Berry. Junior Madison Williams and sophomore Mary Dabadie were the closest to victory on Court 2 doubles, falling 8-5.

Senior Camille Fremaux and sophomore Segan Lister both were bested in a hard-fought opening set, 7-5. Fremaux lost 6-1 in set two on Court 1, while Lister was defeated 6-3 on Court 6.
