JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps men's and women's track and field programs combined for a pair of school records and three event wins at the Belhaven University Invitational on Saturday.

Freshman Jeremiah Hall shattered the program record in the men's triple jump, while junior Dez'Tavien Frank bettered his own mark in the 200 meters.

Hall leapt 13.72 meters (45' 0.25") to win the triple jump and surpass the previous Millsaps distance by 0.5 meters set back in 2015. Frank lowered his 200-meter time to a swift 22.27 seconds to place 12th at the Belhaven Track and Field Complex.

Frank also nearly broke his top time in the 400 meters, covering the lap in 50.11 seconds to finish eighth. Hall was also strong in the long jump (6.27m, sixth), the 100 meters (11.38, 23rd) and 200 meters (23.83, 29th). Freshman Ian McAlpine finished just behind Hall in both the 100 meters (11.90, 28th) and 200 meters (23.97, 30th).

The Millsaps distance trio of junior Patch Heard, senior Patrick Elliott and graduate Landry Lemoine was solid as well. Heard competed in the 800 meters (2:03.98, 14th), Elliott's top performance came in the 1500 meters (4:04.41, fourth) and Lemoine cruised in the 5000 meters (18:06.08, fifth).
Graduate Bryan Sullivan posted another strong throw in the javelin to place seventh (38.36 meters).

On the women's side, junior Fran Edwards and sophomore Sierra Schmidt recorded event wins. Edwards covered the 5000 meters in 20:32.04 and Schmidt cleared the pole vault in 2.80 meters as the lone competitor.

The field success continued as sophomore Eleanor Scott and junior Tyler Hamby garnered runner-up efforts. Scott leapt 1.50 meters in the high jump, while Hamby darted the javelin 27.13 meters.

Both freshman Amelia Bohl and junior Natalie Burke earned ninth place in their respective disciplines. Bohl tossed the discus 30.13 meters and Burke bounded in the long jump 4.71 meters.

Burke was also fast in the 200 meters (26.78, 18th) along with sophomore Ashanti Lastrapes (26.94, 21st). Lastrapes (12.91, 17th) and freshman Fiona Selders (12.93, 18th) finished neck and neck in the 100-meter dash.

Additionally, Lastrapes, Burke, Selders and freshman Hannah Brown placed fourth in the 4x100-meter relay (51.65).

The Millsaps men's and women's track and field programs return to competition at the Bison Open in Searcy, Ark, beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 6.
