SEARCY, Ark. – Millsaps track and field junior
Dez'Tavien Frank and sophomore
Eleanor Scott represented the Majors at the Harding Last Chance Meet on Thursday.
The duo looked to improve their stellar marks set during the season and be ranked near the top 16 nationally in their events, attempting to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Frank and Scott did not better their school records at Harding University's Ted Lloyd Track, but competed well.
Frank finished eighth out of 12 quality competitors in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 49.38 seconds. The Baton Rouge, La., product nearly improved his mark of 48.99 set at the SAA Championships in late April.
Scott ended Thursday's triple jump competition third behind two NCAA Division II student-athletes from host Harding. Scott leapt 11.31 meters (37'-1.25") and nearly reached her standard of 11.48 meters (37'-8") set at the league meet. The Clinton, Miss., native posted her best jump on her third of five attempts.
